Here’s what I know many of you have been waiting for — the original-sized, sneak-peek images for Mahou Sensei Negima! 239 as brought to you buy anonymous Japanese fans (click pic to make bigger, y’all).
If that bottom image shocks you, I can tell you it has caused all kinds of activity on the Japanese side. I know American fans are big on speculating about who the next girl Negi will pactio with will be, but I know no one thought Theodora would be it. So again, another surprising development.
If there are more spoiler images, I’ll post them.

Totally unexpected pactio!
Which one do you think is the master and which is the deciple, Theodora or Negi?

Oh Ken, always throwing us these curveballs.
Wow, that was surprising. I wonder what circumstances Negi would have had to be in to get a pactio from her. As I remember, Setsuna was the only pactio Negi didn’t either do against his will (or when he was not expecting it) or in a life or death situation, because she didn’t use her artifact in the fight and Negi never powered her up. Or was Kaede’s voluntary too? I forget how that one was made…
Since Chamo is doing his normal flag-waving, I’d say Negi is the master.
As to the “why,” that’s a good question unless she plans on telepathically helping Negi in the fight.
Kaede was voluntary, but I dare say done because it makes sense from a strategic sense. Asakura’s pactio was a voluntary thing too.
Thinking about it some more, Chamo may get a kickback no matter whom he gets to pactio, so Theodora could be the master or Negi. If it is Theodora, Negi would get an artifact and some compensation magic for the drain from his other partners.
Rumor is that this isn’t the big event in the chapter so we’ll see what else is in store.
After all the lolicon loving, it was time for some straight shoutacon loving.
Judging from Negi’s face from the last picture, this pactio was a surprise…..
Chamo’s getting to be one rich ermine there!
I think if Chamo draws the circle, he gets the bonus.
Think back to the Setsuna/Konoka near miss.

The more I think about it, the more I am leaning to Theodore being the person giving the pactio but we’ll see.
Well the only thing that i can think of is that there are still 2 there that don’t have a pacto with negi. And seeing this happen in-front of them…. but i could be off to. or do they realize the “Asuna” with them is fake or the scroll have something to do with this all?
Well, if the complete spoiler pack is uploaded tomorrow, we should have a better idea.
Preeeeeetty unexpected! Of all Magic World cast, I didn’t expected that just Theodora pull something like a pactio with Negi. Hata said that that could be the final cliffhanger of chapter 239, so, Ken will let “Who’s the minister” to the tournament, maybe.
After a 1-week break of course. ^_^;;;

If Theodora is the master and if this isn’t the big “wow” moment of the chapter then that moment could be used for the revelation of Negi’s artifact later on.
First blog comment (fan of your reviews Astronerd! =D) This is Negi’s first pactio with a non 3A-Student (ministra and magister questioning aside), with that done, it can bring up the possibility that others outside 3A may pactio with Negi as well (I can definatelly bet Kotarou and Anya, her being a ministra). If this is the case, more pactio cards! Woot! And if Negi is considered the ministra (for any pactio made), dying to know what his artefact would be ^^
